The instruction scheduling implementation was intended for early PPC machines that were statically scheduled. It is no longer useful for modern PPC machines. The implementation is also not suitable for IA32. Moreover, the instruction scheduler was deactivated by default since the first public version of Jikes RVM and currently does not work.
